People's Artist of Ukraine Nina Matvienko admitted that in her free time she loves to grow flowers, berry bushes and fruits in her personal plot. “And for the winter I try to make the maximum number of tasty and healthy preparations,” the artist shared with reporters.

The hero of Ukraine and the beloved singer of thousands of Ukrainians, 71-year-old Nina Matvienko today lives in the very center of Kiev. However, not in a modern technological high-rise, but in a three-story and cozy house where the artist herself, as well as her husband and three children, were comfortably accommodated.

“This house has been owned by our family for many years,” says Nina Mirofanovna. “My husband’s workshop was here earlier, the situation was more than ascetic: there were sculptures on the street that my husband made, and in the house there was only a kitchen equipped with a gas stove and a tiny table.”

Then the spouse of Nina Matvienko, an artist and sculptor Pyotr Gonchar, decided that it was more rational to build a family nest on the available land resources and set up a garden around.

After the reconstruction, Nina Mitrofanovna planted a courtyard with flowers, which she takes care of in her free time.

“We also have a house in the suburbs of Kiev,” the singer says. - That I grow not only flowers, but also fruits and berries. Raspberries and cherries are especially fruitful, ”says the artist. “From the harvest, I make jam every year and harvest for the winter: I rub the berries with my hands, add sugar and put them in bags.”

Matvienko sends all this to the freezer, and in the colder months the whole family feasts on delicious compotes, sauces, etc. But Nina Matvienko prefers not to plant vegetables. According to the recognition of the singer herself, she simply does not have time and energy to care for them.
