The UN FAO Ukrainian office during the International Field Days held the fourth training of the Farmer Field School, which operates under the project "Integrated Management of Natural Resources on the Degraded Landscapes of the Steppe and Forest-Steppe Zones of Ukraine".

Guests got acquainted with the technical kit, which is used in the household. Previously it was believed that strip sowing for small farmers was not available, since the units designed for this require significant energy costs.

However, scientists UkrNIIIPIT them. The burned-out developed a unit for strip processing STA-4. It can also be modified by a mineral fertilizer applicator. Experiments have shown that this technology surpasses control sowing by 15-20% in yield.

“Such trainings are very useful, but administrative or economic means are needed to stimulate farmers to apply scientifically based crop rotation, the use of soil protection technologies.
