According to the employees of Rospotrebnadzor, in 2018 they examined more than 150 thousand samples of various meat products from shelves of domestic stores and from the shelves of Russian markets. As a result, it turned out that meat and its processed products in many cases either turned out to be of poor quality and did not meet state sanitary requirements, or were sold without the necessary supporting documentation. It is noteworthy that the documents were absent in almost every third facility in which the audit of products was carried out.
The results of last year’s inspections were not only hundreds of tons of low-quality meat taken out of circulation, but also the fines imposed on negligent producers and distributors. The total amount of these fines is more than 146 million rubles.
