Officials of the State Food and Beverage Service in the Transcarpathian region tightened control over the movement of live pigs and pork products in the region.
Such measures are carried out in connection with the detection of a pig disease from African swine fever in one of the farms in the Stryi district of the Lviv region in order to prevent the virus from entering the farms of the region.
To date, no facts have been recorded confirming the spread of this dangerous disease in Transcarpathia. But in order to prevent the occurrence of such cases, service specialists will continue to carry out preventive measures.
According to specialists from the State Food and Consumer Service of Transcarpathian region, absolutely effective methods for protecting and preventing the occurrence of animal ailments do not exist today. The only thing left for owners is to protect their households from the entry of a dangerous virus into their territory.
As for the pig farms in the region, they must adhere to a closed regime of detention. This means a ban on contacts between domestic pigs and wild ones. You also need to constantly check the quality of feed and, of course, comply with the requirements of sanitation rules.
