The reconstructed bull-feeding site for bulls of JUIC “Bulls of Cherkasy”, supported by the USAID, USAID, is preparing to receive the starting batch of bull-calves in the first days of July this year. This was reported by the Association of Cattle Breeders of Ukraine.
Today, construction work is already coming to an end. The room is reconstructed and equipped with new equipment.
It is planned that the participants of the Bulls of Cherkasy region will feed the calves that were born domestic cows. At the same time, the cooperative will take care of all expenses and pat about their growing.
The animal in this situation remains in the possession of the peasant, who handed him over to fattening. When the calf reaches marketable mass, the peasant can give the cooperative the right to sell it, or sell it on its own, reimbursing the cost of fattening, explain the association.
Members of the association note that the costs of the peasant in this case will be much less than with self-raising livestock.
When fattening a calf, a wholesale purchase of feed is carried out at the site of the cooperative, as well as quality service by farm workers. The latest approaches to raising livestock can significantly reduce the time of gaining marketable weight by the bull.
In addition, all the troubles associated with raising a calf bypass the peasant. This increases the motivation for fattening livestock to a greater weight, instead of slaughtering the calf at a young age, summed up in the association.
