At the Podolskaya Marka farm (Khmelnitsky region), only the first and second reproductions are usually sown for marketable grain.
This was announced by the chief agronomist of the economy Vitaly Ligotsky. According to him, the third reproduction is no longer being sown, since the yield, compared with the elite, may drop to 10%.
The farmers process the seed material with growth regulators, and later bring it in again to shorten the stem. Growth regulators (morphoregulators) literally and figuratively shorten the difficult path to high yields. They affect the physiological processes of plants due to delayed synthesis or the action of growth hormones (auxins and gibberellins).
The result of their application, in addition to shortening the length of the straw and increasing its rigidity, is also a redistribution of nutrients in the plant, which contributes to the laying of more productive stems and increase the individual productivity of plants.
Vitaliy Ligotsky also added that the current year turned out to be rainy and the economy had problems with the spread of various types of rust, septoria, and fusarium along the ear.
Since there is a high risk that the chemicals will not work and can be significantly lost in yields, only original fungicides and those whose effectiveness we have seen from our own experience are purchased at the farm.
