Kuwait subsidizes its population with food on the cards. This set includes: flour, bread and bakery products, butter, chicken, baby food, rice, sugar, milk powder, lentils. A compulsory grocery set consists of 75% imported goods. Thus, the demand for the imported product does not decrease.
So far, Ukrainian manufacturers sell very small volumes of their goods to Kuwait. But this export direction can become very promising. All the delights of exporting to Kuwait open to manufacturers of chicken, bakery products and butter.
The three leaders in the supply of chicken are Brazil, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Ukraine, on the other hand, exports only 206 tons of the product from 132, 4 thousand tons (according to information for 2017).
Kuwait always has a stable demand for bread and flour. The main suppliers in this segment are the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Saudi Arabia. Ukraine is on the 13th place in the list of importers (1.55% or $ 2.64 million of a total of $ 170.26 million). Until 2014, Ukraine did not supply bread to Kuwait at all. Since 2018, imports from Ukraine are constantly increasing by 0.8% every year.
Butter is a perishable product that requires special storage conditions. Ukraine has reached 8th place in the list of suppliers of this product. In the top three: Germany, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand. The total oil supply in 2017 was estimated at $ 46.98 million, part of Ukraine is 3.4% ($ 1.63 million).
In the Kuwait market, the most sought after products are waffles, chicken, cakes, milk powder, sweet cookies, and cheese butter.
