Wild boars of Transcarpathian forests failed to escape the disaster and became infected with African forest plague. Researchers suggest that forest animals were infected by relatives from European countries.
A case of ASF infection among wild boars that hunters managed to catch was recorded in the Loposh tract, which is located near the village of Velikie Berega (Beregovsky district, Transcarpathian region).
Realizing what kind of prey they got, the hunters immediately reported a sick boar to the State Food and Beverage Service.
