The city of Volzhsky, located in the vast Volgograd region, received a unique opportunity - local farmers with pleasure began to test the innovative greenhouse complex.
The development of this greenhouse was carried out by the best minds of Europe. And as a result, on the area of more than 5 hectares, smart fifth-generation greenhouses are located, in which tomatoes are already planted. Optimistic farmers intend to get the first batch of tomato harvest (about 75 kilograms per square meter!) In a few weeks.
According to employees of the greenhouse complex, the yield in this greenhouse is higher than in greenhouses of previous generations, by as much as fifteen percent. Cultivation is carried out in an automated climate control and "smart" round-the-clock illumination. And the pollination of plants is carried out by "special personnel" - bumblebees who live in special hives (according to the scheme "five hives per hectare").
According to representatives of the regional administration, over the past few years, the number of greenhouses of different generations has noticeably increased in the region. Today, more than 85 hectares of land, which regularly bear fruit with a capacity of 50 thousand tons per year, are allotted for growing vegetable crops in closed ground conditions.
