Currently, out of this number, 233.5 thousand cows, 277.8 thousand pigs and 329.8 thousand sheep and goats.

On the farms of the Aleksandrovsky district, the number of livestock increased slightly this winter. At the moment, it contains 14029 heads of cattle, which is 101% of the level of 2018, including 5425 heads of cows.

The largest livestock sector of the region is Kolganskoye LLC, where 1,119 livestock, including 394 dairy cows, remained for the winter.

The leaders in terms of livestock numbers are also considered such farms as Cheboksarovskoye LLC (734 heads) and Zagorskoye LLC (640 heads). As for the peasant farms, here the palm is held by IP KFH Marina Bykova, which contains 700 head of cattle.

The cow’s intestines reach 51 m in length, and the food eaten moves through the digestive tract for 2-3 days.

As stated in the message of the head of the department of agriculture of the Alexandrovsky district Dmitry Maksutov, all animals are well provided with food and wintering passes without difficulty.

Cows are calving, and meanwhile, experts in the field of animal husbandry are working on the mating and insemination of heifers and cows. From the first days of this year, artificial insemination in the district covered more than 650 heads of cows and heifers, which exceeds the level of 2018.

Farms received 1024 calves this year, while the output per 100 cows was 68 goals.

The farms of the region procured 405.1 thousand tons of silage, 273.3 thousand tons of hay, 93.2 thousand tons of hay, 139.6 thousand tons of straw and 392 thousand tons of concentrated feed for the winter.
