According to the authorized employees of Rosstat, in May of this year, representatives of agricultural enterprises of the Russian Federation managed to sell about 1.3 million tons of wheat.

It would seem that the amount is impressive, but this sales volume is almost twenty-one percent lower than the sales figures in April 2019.

And if we compare the May figure of this year with the figure for May of the previous year, then we can safely say that the volume of wheat sales fell by more than forty-three percent.

It will not be superfluous to note that grain farmers in only one region of the Russian Federation managed to overtake their last year’s sales results - we are talking about the Rostov region.

It is known that in the early days of June of this year, in the storages of Russian grain farmers more than three million tons of wheat were contained. And this is one third less than those reserves that were in Russian bins in early May 2019 and in the early days of June 2018.

Based on the information shared by analysts of the agricultural sector of the Russian Federation, the increase in wheat stocks has been growing over the past three months.
