For almost two weeks now, domestic melons of early varieties have been sold in the markets of Uzhgorod. Sellers say that the berry was brought from the Kherson region.

Today, watermelons in Uzhgorod markets can be bought at a price of 12-15 UAH / kg. Complaints about harmful or poor-quality goods have not yet been received from them.

A watermelon seller named Tarkan says this is the second delivery. He receives watermelons from the Kherson region and daily sells 300-400 kg of goods.

Watermelon is 90% water and contains vitamins A, E and group B. But in addition to nutrients, it can also have an increased level of nitrates.

This year, people have not yet been treated with watermelon poisoning, doctors say. But doctors do not recommend buying watermelons in July, as they may have a high nitrate content.

So, the family doctor Natalia Skrip does not recommend purchasing berries yet. The watermelons purchased right now are greenhouse, the doctor said. It is especially risky to make a purchase from roadside sellers, since watermelons absorb all the heavy metals.
