In the first six months of 2018, Ukraine produced more than 165 tons of pork meat, including fresh and chilled product. Experts note that this is almost 10% less than in the same period in 2017.
According to analysts from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, local farmers are rapidly cutting pork production: “In October 2018, 16.4 thousand tons of fresh and chilled pork were produced, as well as about 300 tons of frozen pork meat. The performance in October 2017 was significantly higher, not to mention the numbers. Which were recorded in previous years. "

The decline in pork production in Ukraine is associated with the fact that farmers consider this occupation unprofitable in the current conditions - the profit practically does not cover the costs.
