In Volyn forestry, canning shops still remain from the times of the USSR. The birch sap, which is produced here, is planned to be exported to Israel and the USA.
To obtain juice, birches must be older than 50 years. The juice collected from them goes to the preservation workshop, where it is closed in its pure form or with the addition of wild berries and herbs. Forestry specialists produce about 20 types of birch sap.
Its recipe and technology were developed by employees of the Tsuman forestry. Juice of Volyn birches is planned to be delivered to Israel and the USA, the representative of the forestry Rostislav Zarubich shared information.For information, birch sap was a particularly popular drink in the USSR in the middle of the twentieth century. It contains vitamins B6 and B12, essential oils, betulol, saponins, over 10 organic acids. From the point of view of legislation, it is equated with food forest resources. In the era of the USSR, the production of birch sap by several state enterprises was established. In particular, most of the product was produced in Belarus, Ukraine and the middle zone of the European part of Russia. In the Russian Federation, the Leningrad Region produces the most juice. Every year, at the end of April, the Birch Juice Festival is held here.Share
