Near Odessa there is a vertical farm "Health Portion", where seedlings of peas, sunflower, mustard, radish, onion, about two dozen names of various seedlings, as well as leafy greens and food flowers are grown.
The production capacities of the Portia Health enterprise are located on the outskirts of Odessa.
The main distribution channels for products are Tavria-V and Santim retail chains, as well as restaurants and cafes in Odessa. But manufacturers are interested in increasing sales in the HoReCa segment.
Racks in several tiers are located on a total area of production facilities of 300 m². Indoor soil consists of coconut substrate and agro-fiber. Indoor lighting.
Vertical beds are watered only with purified water. In production, only BTU-Center organic preparations are used. The products of a vertical farm are 100% organic.
But the company has not yet documented this. Currently, preparations are underway for certification under the Organic Standard system, after which farm products can be officially called organic.
The main problem of the enterprise is the search for reliable and regular suppliers of organic seeds.
