Siberian farmers from the open spaces of the Tomsk region managed to gain leadership positions in the Russian livestock sector.
The head of the Tomsk administration Sergey Zhvachkin proudly shared such data. In the framework of the plenary meeting, Rural Assembly, he noted that for the entire period of 2018, livestock breeders in the region managed to increase production rates by more than 5.5%.
It is noteworthy that the productivity index of workers in the meat processing industry rose by 116%. And the corresponding indicators of the milk processing sector increased by almost 102%. If we talk about farms and independent farmers, then, according to Zhvachkin, over the past year they managed to produce more than 155 thousand tons of meat products. The real champions are pork procurers. Indeed, thanks to their efforts, the Tomsk Region has so increased the production of meat of Siberian pigs, which allowed the region to enter the top five domestic industry leaders.
Also, Sergey Zhvachkin focuses on the fact that it is the Tomsk region that is entrusted to him that is the leader in the dairy sector in the vastness of Siberia. And here it is worth thanking the workers of agricultural organizations who, on average over the past year, managed to milk about 6183 kilograms per cow. It is important to note that this is almost 8% more than a year earlier.
